Job description:
We are looking for a dedicated, friendly, and detail-oriented Barista / Kitchen Prep to join our dynamic team at Collective, a vibrant craft coffee shop dedicated to serving the best coffee and food to our local community. As a Barista / Kitchen Prep, you’ll be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, assisting in kitchen prep, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Barista Duties:
Prepare and serve a variety of high-quality craft coffee drinks (espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, pour-overs, etc.).
Ensure that all coffee and tea offerings meet company standards for quality, taste, and presentation.
Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other kitchen equipment efficiently and safely.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station, ensuring all items are stocked and ready for service.
Engage with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations for beverages and food options.
Process transactions accurately using the POS system and handle cash and credit card payments.
Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a positive attitude, being attentive, and responding to customer inquiries or concerns.
Kitchen Prep Duties:
Assist with food prep, ensuring all items are prepared and presented according to company standards.
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste.
Assist with inventory tracking and restocking supplies as needed.
Prepare baked goods, sandwiches, and light bites with attention to detail and food safety standards.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a barista or in a kitchen prep role is a plus, but not required.
Strong customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
Open to working flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
Food handler’s permit or barista training is preferred but not required.
